		<description>My older brother&#039;s first wife did that crap. She had a daughter from a previous marriage and on my nephew&#039;s first birthday, as we were watching this beautiful child open his first gifts, a huge deal was made about his older sister getting presents, too. I said it was wrong, but my bro&#039;s in-laws didn&#039;t care.

Chris and Brittany both grew up to be very spoiled adults who have a helluva time living in the real world. I have to add that my nephew was not allowed much contact with our family after his mom divorced my brother. Otherwise, we would have made sure that he knew life wasn&#039;t fair and tried to at least balance the damage his mom &amp; her family were doing.

My daughter is taught this and I think it makes her, and kids in general, more resilient.</description>
