I AM #MomEnough and so are YOU

We are doing the best we can. Yes, we have

  • Forgotten to sign permission slips
  • Given our kids junk food
  • Said swear words in front of them
  • Mixed whites with darks in the laundry
  • Let them sleep with us when we were too tired to keep putting them back in their beds
  • Argued with our spouses in front of them
  • Bottle fed them
  • Breast fed them
  • Said inappropriate things in front of them
  • Left them with with a baby sitter
  • Locked ourselves in the bathroom so we could have 5 minutes of peace
  • Spanked them
  • Read them the same book 5 times in a row because they were too cute to deny
  • Forgotten one at home
  • Blogged about the funny things they have done
  • Taken pictures of their cute baby bottoms
  • Given in to their whining because we didn’t want to hear “please” 50 thousand more times
  • Spoiled them
  • Refused them
  • Put them in time out
  • Made them eat their brussel sprouts
  • Let them jump on the bed and then joined them because it looked like fun
  • Home schooled them
  • Breathed a sigh of sweet relief when we dropped them off at school in the morning
  • Cried when we took them to kindergarten on their first day
  • Cried when they moved out
  • Laughed at them when they did something naughty
  • Yelled at them when we should have kept our cool
  • Regretted some of the choices we made as parents

We have done a lot of things as moms. Some we are proud of. Some we are not. At the end of the day, I have NO DOUBT in my mind that every mother on this Earth loves their kids more than life itself. I’m not going to link to the article that is trying to pit us moms against each other because I refuse to help them make money from such a heinous deed. I’m just going to support the idea that every mom, no matter her religion, back ground, sexual preference, stance on breastfeeding, occupation, etc… is Mom Enough. Because we are.

I am applauding!! Whoo Hoo! I try never to judge another mother. We all have good and bad days. I just try to encourage and support them and this post does exactly that! Thank you!

I found your blog through the blogger comment club- thanks for letting me visit.

  2. Exactly! I love how you wrote this post! I could not agree with you more. I to refuse to give the article or picture one bit of publicity. Its all so very unfortunate.
We all have so many things in common. At the end of the day we all have the same overall goal in mind. We want to make the best choices we can for our family at any given time. Putting forth every ounce of our being to give our children everything they need to thrive. Every mother in this world who does just that, regardless of there choice in parenting, is more that “Mom Enough!”

AMEN! There is no such thing as a perfect mother, but there is the “good enough mother”. We make mistakes and often feel guilty, but our love outshines any of the not so good moments!
