Brandcation: The LowDown

Oh hai! I’m taking a break from packing my suitcase to fill you in on why I’m packing a suitcase. In six days from now, I’ll be heading to Pensacola Florida for a little gathering called Brandcation. I will be joining a group of 31 mom bloggers to play on white sand beaches, zip line through beautiful terrain, tube down miles of gulf coast water, star gaze, transform myself into character for a murder mystery dinner and stay at the gorgeous Portofino Resort. Amazing, right? Go ahead and ask…

“How does a mom of seven afford such a luxurious vacation?” Let me tell you. I’m a blogger. And when you’re a blogger who has done this for ten plus years, you meet a lot of people, connect with a lot of brands and get opportunities that others would die for. (I also had a lot of help from some fabulous bloggers who I talk about below.) Is being a blogger easy work? NO. Is it something you can learn in a week and expect to become wealthy because of? NO. Is it something I will teach you how to do for free so that you too can relax on white sand beaches? NO. You’ve gotta pay for that kind of wisdom and knowledge. I will tell you this…

Truth be told, it has taken ten years of posting, networking, paying it forward, learning the social media ropes and hard work to get to this point. Am I famous? NO. Am I rich? NO. So why do I do it? Because I love it. I love sharing my life with people. I love connecting with brands that I am a fan of and meeting new ones. It is my passion. And trips like this are the fruit of my labors, the generosity of a lot of companies and countless hours of planning from MomDot’s team. They are hard earned and so I brag about them because they are what equates to getting a bonus at a traditional job and the people who made it possible deserve my gratitude and promotion.

For the next 6 days, I will be posting about my excitement, talking about the brands who made this trip possible for all of us hard working bloggers, my personal trip sponsors and sharing my adventures with you all. Those of you who don’t want to know about it all, look away for the next week.
